2024 Republic of Chad 1 oz Silver Owls: Stygian Owl BU

The Stygian Owl is the first release in 2024 in this popular series. Featured on the fourth coin in the series, the stygian owl lives in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, but is not often seen. This owl is larger and darker than the long-eared owl, and has a heavy dark barring on its chest and belly. It has red eyes and long ear tufts, which at times makes it look a little scary.

• Obverse: Features the coat of arms of the Republic of Chad, a shield that is supported by a goat and lion on either side. Below the shield is a medal and scroll with the national motto in French, "Unite, Travail, Progres," meaning "Unity, Work, Progress" in English.
• Reverse: Shows a stygian owl with its wings tucked next to the body, with graphics around the edge of the coin. The name of the series and coin are included.
